TUESDAY CLASS PROGRAMME
for Beginners & Experienced
Dancers
Objective - to learn the
elements of Scottish Country Dancing. The class will start with work on
basic steps and formations - a chance for the beginner to learn Scottish
Country Dancing and for the more experienced dancer, an opportunity to
improve their dance technique. The programme chosen for the classes
will include dances featuring in Branch social dances (essential preparation
for those of a forgetful nature!), old favourites and new dances. If you
have particular dances you would like to learn or re-visit, please tell the
teacher - every effort will be made to include such dances in subsequent
classes.
Beginner's Class:
This takes place on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month (for
timetable click here), running from 7.00 - 8.00 pm.
The class is taught by Gill and will concentrate on the basic footwork and
techniques of Scottish Country Dancing.
General Class: On
the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month this runs from 8.00- 10.00 pm; all
other Tuesdays from 7.30 - 10.00 pm. Although intended primarily for
dancers with some knowledge and experience of Scottish Country Dancing,
beginners are always welcomed and encouraged to join in.
The real emphasis is on FUN -
learning steps, figures, formations and dances in a friendly, supportive and
relaxed atmosphere - plenty of chatter and laughter!
